I am now taking my final classes to finish up my degree, and one of the assignments this past week was to write out your world view and defend it. I have thought about what my world view is but never wrote it down. While writing it for the assignment it took on a whole new meaning to me personally once it was committed to paper! It’s a great assignment and something that all Christians should do in order to make a stance on what they believe. So check it out and consider to write out your world view!
My world view is that God is the creator of everything and overall responsible for the worlds functions. He has given man the ability to have dominion over His creation but with that dominion, comes responsibility.
(Genesis 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”)
He has given man rules to follow and if the rules are obeyed, life will be enhanced, if they are not life will be challenging. Once conceived, and we fulfill our “short stay” on earth, we live forever either in heaven or hell. God wants all people to be saved since he created them and loves all humanity.
(1 Timothy 2:4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.)
God is love, so love is the strongest force in the universe; it has the ability to transform lives.God loves people so much that He wants life to be perfect for them, therefore, He sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice for sin. Since sin cannot be in God’s presence, a personrequires the blood of Christ to stand before a holy God. Once a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior they are in righteous standing before God and under the new covenant. This grants them eternal life and gives them sonship in the kingdom of God.
(1 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.)
If they do not accept Jesus Christ then they will condemn themselves to hell for not believing in the Son of God. There will come a day when the earth and the people in it will be judged for its actions, but God is so patient, he has chosen to delay his judgment until every person on earth has the opportunity to hear the message of the Gospel.
(John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.)
Here is a book “The Universe Next Door” by James Sire that you may want use while writing your world view, you can preview it online too!

You know life is not fair. When we were kids one of our excuses for not getting our way would be to say “THAT’S NOT FAIR!!” sometimes a consenting adult would step in and give the screaming kid what they want other times it was not gonna happen! I used to think well it should be fair everyone should get the same treatment….right?? Now that I’m older I realize that that’s just not gonna happen! Our life is ultimately made up of the decision’s we make or fail to make. I can look back on my life like many of you and say if I would have done this, or if I had only done that. Those decisions or indecision’s put you in the situation you are in today. So is it fair that I’m not a millionaire cause I wasn’t born with riches in my family and Paris Hilton was? That’s not fair but its life. All I know of her story is her father started a hotel in the 40 or 50s(??) it got popular and he got rich. Now what I don’t know is the sacrifices he made to get there. Do we know if he lost money before he got popular, do we know if he had to leave family for extended periods time or work odd jobs to get money during the building process? One thing we do know is his particular success came with some sacrifices it was not overnight.
Look at King David in the bible though we know his story of struggle that the bible points out; like being anointed as king but running from Saul, counting the people out of pride and sleeping with Bathsheba. What we don’t know is the emotional struggle he must have suffered through all these ordeals. The emotional battles he faced with his self!! You know that was hard! He could have killed Saul three times and didn’t; part of him probably was saying take this dude straight out, but thank God he didn’t! Was that fair that Saul wanted him dead cause of jealousy? No it was not but through it all David grew a stronger assurance and reliance upon the Almighty God. So through the struggle and through the pain it is your chance to learn a new name for God.
I’m experiencing this now, being away from my family as a recruiter it gets hard. I ask sometimes did I make a mistake God? Business is not like it used to, we living in two spots, trying to think positive when negative is around it gets hard!! Its a definitely a battleground in my mind fam! The bible always bring encouragement and prayer is the key. Though I don’t know the final outcome its encouraging to know that God is with me and He will never forsake me!! So the new name I am learning for God is “Jehovah-Shammah” Who will never leave or forsake me. I heard that from my favorite minister Bishop T.D. Jakes. He said we may know God as a provider but not know Him as Shepard, we may know Hm as a Savior but not know Him as a healer…you get the picture! Next time you going through something, trust me you will, learn a new name for God and allow him the opportunity to come through for you in the clutch!!

Scripture: Daniel 9:23 (English Standard Version)
“At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision.”
So often, we think that God is not listening to our prayers because He either does not answer us when we want Him to answer us or because He doesn’t answer us how we think He should answer us. We live in a society in which information, data and technology are at our fingertips and somehow we think that God’s timing should adjust to the fast pace world that we live in. Because we want it not just now but right now, we think that means God must give it to us immediately. To quote ESPN’s Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friend.”
I John 5:14-15 says that we can be assured that He hears our prayers, answers our prayers and honors our requests when we “ask anything according to His will.” Which means, we don’t ask God for what we want, but instead, we must ask God what He wants for us. It requires us to submit to his authority and direction and be willing to sacrifice if need be. So if you think God is not answering your prayers, perhaps you should check your motive first. Are you seeking His will or your own will?
In the passage above in Daniel, Daniel had just finished praying and immediately, the angel Gabriel shows up. Gabriel then told Daniel “a word went out” and Daniel should “consider the word and understand the vision.” Which means, God heard Daniel’s prayer and was providing Daniel with an answer. Daniel’s charge then was to receive the answer in his spirit, regardless of what that answer was.
God may not send Gabriel to answer our prayers. But He may send a co-worker, your Pastor, your best friend, your aunt or the man at the supermarket to give you Godly counsel. He may even *gasp* reveal the answer to you in His word during your personal Bible Study time. Regardless of how God sends us the answer to our prayers, we must understand the vision and receive it. God’s Will is far superior to our own and therefore, we are much better off when we submit to Him, than when we try to figure it out on our own.
